In der letzten Zeit ist es, trotz einiger Versuche das Spiel wieder attraktiver zu machen, still geworden um UT - sowohl 2004 als auch UT3. Das Ziel dieses Cups ist, wie so oft, dem Spiel ein wenig von seinem ursprünglichen Ambiente wieder zu geben und die Aktivität etwas zu steigern, wobei der Titel "One last show!" wahrscheinlich (aber hoffentlich nicht) die aktuelle Situation besser wiederspiegelt als die scheinbare Euphorie die dieser Cup mitbringen soll.
Nach einer Woche Signup sind bereits jetzt 21 Teams angemeldet und 2 in der Warteliste (darunter natürlich ehs).
Die Cupstruktur an sich sieht vielversprechend aus:
Es sind zum Teil große Teams, die man noch aus früheren Zeiten kennt, wie Octopus, bizzare, highpingz0r ect. angemeldet, die den Cup auch mit hilfe von Shoutcasts und UTV attraktiv machen.
Also wollen wir hoffen, dass es noch einige Signups kommen und ein paar spannende Spiele zusammen kommen.

Nach einer langen Dürreperiode bezüglich etwaiger Informationen zu Patch 1.4 von Dawn of War 2. Am Donnerstag den 18.06.09 gab Relic der darbenden Meute endlich genauere Informationen was sie für das nächste Update zu erwarten haben und das ist wahrlich beeindruckend.
Laut Relic wird es 4 neue 1on1-, 2 neue 2on2- und ebenfalls 2 neue 3on3-Maps geben, ausserdem sollen massive Änderungen bezüglich der Balance vorgenommen werden.
FACTS - THERE IS ONLY WAR!
This summer, Dawn of War II is going to receive a major update that adds tremendous value to the multiplayer experience through new features, major balance improvements, and new content.
A New Observer Feature
New Observer and Referee options let you watch custom multiplayer games as a spectator. With this new perspective, the Observer can easily monitor the entire battle with a detailed look at the status of all players. Gamereplays.org will release an exclusive first look at this new feature on their site on Friday, June 19th.
PvP Balance and Open Beta
As promised, ‘There is Only War’ brings a significant balance update to Dawn of War II’s multiplayer game. We have re-tuned many units, added new abilities, and fixed many bugs and exploits. For more information, stay tuned to this blog for exclusive Dawn of War II Developer Battle Reports that showcase the new multiplayer changes for all four races.
Get an early look at this update with an open beta that goes live in early July for all Dawn of War II owners. Throughout the beta, we’ll be gathering community feedback to help ensure ‘There is Only War’ is the best update yet. Details about how to join the beta will be released in the coming weeks.

Endlich ist es soweit, der lang erwartete Contentpatch zu Relics RTS Dawn of War 2 wurde am 12.05.09 auf die Steamserver aufgespielt und wird dann automatisch auf euren PC heruntergeladen.

• Two on Two game mode is now available for ranked play.
• Two new four-player maps have been added to the game: (4p) Medean Cliff Mines and (4p) Ruins of Argus. These are available for ranked and custom games.
• We have added a benchmarking performance test; you can find it in the Graphics options tab.
• There are eight new sync kill animations in the game. Keep your eyes open for some new carnage!

• We have added a “Push to Talk” option for in-game voice chat. When enabled in the Game Options screen, tilde (~) will control chat.
• We have also added a “Advanced Sub-selection” game option. When enabled sub-selection behavior will be the same as Company of Heroes, where a sub-selected squad will be the only one to receive orders.

• Fixed several crashes where invalid data was being written to logs.

• Commander wargear and squad upgrades are now visible on unit selection panel.
• Build queues are now displayed.

• Maximum number of custom chapters is now 350.

• Fixed a bug where a unit with an energy shield could become unkillable if they also had very low health.
• Fixed a bug where the Carnifex would stop meleeing units after killing a hero in melee.
• Tankbusta targeting priorities have been improved, now prefer to target vehicles.
• Fixed a bug where demolition charges could pass through terrain and not detonate.
• Fixed a bug where the Techmarine could continue to repair after being knocked down.
• Squads now unload from a vehicle when it is destroyed.
• Full resource refunds are now granted when a building that hasn’t started construction is cancelled.

• AI players will engage the enemy and attack more aggressively than before.
• AI players are stronger at preserving units, and retreat at appropriate times both in melee and ranged combat.
• AI players are now much better at using unit abilities.
• AI players will upgrade existing units with a variety of upgrades more intelligently.
• AI players prioritize capture points in a more intelligent fashion.
• AI players tech to tier 2 in an appropriate timeframe and purchase later game units based on combat needs.
• AI players tech to tier 3 and purchases late game units including Carnifexs, predator tanks, fire prisms, etc, based on combat needs.
• AI players now can flank suppression weapons out of combat.
• AI players now purchase dead heroes at more appropriate costs.
